The best way to bring the energy of your element into your home is to decorate in the colors of that element. For wood decorate in greens and brown. To evoke the energy of fire use red, orange, warm purple and strong pink. Sand and earthy colors as well as light yellow and light brown correspond to the earth element. For metal decorate in white and grey. Use blues and black bring the water element into your spaces.
How to calculate your Feng Shui birth element
Chinese years don’t correspond to the western calendar with each new year beginning on the 1st January, instead Chinese years are calculated on the Luna calendar with the year beginning on the second full moon after the winter solstice. So the first day of each will be a different date in either late January or early February. For example if you were born on 25 January 1990 your element is Earth and not Metal which is the element for the majority of people born in 1990.
